The highest skyscraper will be built in Azerbaijan

In 2015, Azerbaijan plans to start construction of the tallest building in the world. The height record holder will be 1050 meters, 220 meters above the current record holder - the skyscraper Burj Dubai (Burj Khalifa), built in the United Arab Emirates.

For the construction of the Tower of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan Tower), as the group calls it the Avesta (Avesta Group of Companies), chosen a very unusual place. Architects plan to build a skyscraper and a city around it for forty one artificial island. The very same tower will be the central architectural element of the composition. Resource DVICE points out that Azerbaijan Tower will be able to withstand an earthquake of nine points.

Artificial island Khazar be located in the Caspian Sea south-west of the Azerbaijani capital of Baku. It is planned that the island will become a new business center. The city, designed for one million inhabitants, will inter alia have the modern bridges, highway F1 (Formula One), and even the individual airport. Total project cost - $ 100 billion, of which two will be spent on construction of Azerbaijan Tower.

Skyscraper plan to finish the year 2018-2019, the island - by 2022. The main competitor of the Tower of Azerbaijan will become the Tower of the Kingdom (Kingdom Tower), another skyscraper, whose construction will take place in Saudi Arabia. According to the project, the height of this building will be 1001 meters.
