Private spaceship will appear after 20 years

Private companies can begin to build a space ship in 20-30 years, according to Sergei Kostenko, head of the Russian representation of the company Space Adventures, which arranges flights to the ISS space tourists.

"The entire proximal space - an orbital altitude of 400 kilometers - now transferred to private corporations to develop, for example, SpaceX. There are already several companies that are building private spaceships, space stations, develop low orbit. In the future, private companies will build and interplanetary ships. Start with the moon, with the flyby of the moon, landing on the moon, then, perhaps, Mars. This will be in 20-30 years ", - Kostenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

In his view, the role of private business and private projects in the space sector will only increase.

He stressed that although a number of U.S. companies provide spacecraft for orbital flight, with the support of NASA, but these projects are started solely as a private initiative.

"Elon Musk (Chapter SpaceX) for a long time worked on the Falcon - Dragon (carrier and orbiter for the flight to the ISS) before the Obama administration did not adopt the heroic decision to allocate six billion dollars to support private projects. They are very timely support for this project, "- said Kostenko
