Jorge Lorenzo won the first MotoGP race in 2012

Jorge Lorenzo won the race in MotoGP in Qatar and, thus, became the first winner of a new class of racing motorcycles with engine capacity of 1000 cubic centimeters. Following the leader of the team finished two riders Yamaha Honda, Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner.

"It was a great race! I tried to give everything to the maximum and fought until the very end. Casey started well, but in the end he lost his pace, and I was able to beat him. I also want to thank Yamaha for their work in fine-tuning the bike, "- told reporters Lorenzo, who earned the highest possible in Qatar 25 points.

The second stage of the championship will be held at the Spanish MotoGP in Jerez track from 27 to 29 April.
