Mercedes-Benz is preparing a new compact van

German car giant Mercedes-Benz presented a new version of a commercial vehicle, showing pictures of the future of creation. According to preliminary data of the compact van was named Citan.

Reportedly, the new van will be the most compact vehicle LCV of the entire series of commercial vehicles from Mercedes-Benz. At the moment, this place is occupied by Vito, which is capable of carrying loads weighing from 870 to 1345 pounds.

Reportedly, the van will be equipped with diesel engine only. It also reported that new development will be available in several versions. In Europe, the car will be sold as well as the passenger version.

As for the debut of a new car, pre-production show car Citan happens in Hanover this fall. In the European market, the car goes on sale at the end of 2012.
