Earth is close to a giant asteroid - Eros

Asteroid Eros (also known as the 1898 DQ) was opened in August 1898 the German astronomer Karl Witt (Carl Witt) and independently by the Frenchman Auguste Charlouis' (Auguste Charlois). He became the first known asteroid, which is able to cross the "natural border" of the main asteroid belt - the orbit of Mars - and approach close enough to the Earth, RIA-Novosti reported.

As scientists believe, over the next 2 million years might change its orbit so that Eros will cross Earth's orbit and, hence, there is a danger of its collision with our planet. The consequences can be more severe than Chiksulubskaya catastrophe 65 million years ago, when the fall in the 10 km of a celestial body in the Caribbean led to the extinction of the dinosaurs.

But this time, scientists have confirmed that the asteroid will pass by, but a host of Internet video showing a picture of the alleged consequences of the collision.
