The Americans are developing nuclear drones

U.S. scientists are developing a project to create a new unmanned aircraft operating in the nuclear fuel. They will be able to fly over remote areas for several months without refueling.

The project is possible thanks to cooperation between the research center "Sandia National Laboratories" and the corporation "Northrop Grumman". Their goal is to increase the duration of the flights from several days to several months, and increased power for the equipment.

The research team concluded that the nuclear drones have greater potential than other aircraft. They require less financial costs by reducing the number of refills stations in remote areas.

But scientists are worried that society will not accept the idea of using a potentially unsafe technology. The risk associated with the possible collapse of the aircraft, working on nuclear engines. In addition, new development may fall into the hands of terrorists.
